Motor is done

I am bummed checked compression and the top starboard cylinder is done, what a way to start the season, all because of some %$%$%$%$%$%$%$ letting a plastic bag go into the water,. Not sure what I am going to do now.

A few years back the insurance paid for mine because of a plastic bag.

WOW that sux. I know the feeling, not a fried powerhead, but other issues that kept me on land or friends boats for almost a whole summer.

Is rebuilding an option? How old is the engine?

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

I pulled the head off today, to inspect it, and the cylinder looks fine. The head gasket is missing a good portion of the sealing ring in the bad cylinder, so I think it is a blown head gasket. Will be replacing it this week, keep your fingers crossed..

That sucks Bill.
Hope it's just the head gasket and a cheap fix.
