Auto door lock remote control rip-off

The remote door opener for my Toy Tundra broke and I needed a new one/wanted one for the convenience (no not a battery). I stopped at a Toy dealer and asked what it would cost for the replacement, $120. If that wasn't bad enough he said it would cost another $90-100 just to program it.

Well, eBay to the rescue as I found the unit there (make sure you get one with the same FCC number) for $50 +$5 shipping. Comes with programming instructions for FREE. It took me about 2 min to follow the series of maneuvers to program/activate the new remote. It works!

Just thought I'd post since I know at least one of you guys will dunk or lose a remote and need a replacement. Try eBay 1st no matter make/model. I can provide by Seller's name if interested.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Reminds me of the joke about the guy that locked his keys in his car and needed a locksmith to get his family out!

Carwash gave my wifes's audi key to someone else with an auidi and he drove away. The owner told my wife to order a replacement and have the dealer send him the bill $1500.00 for that key. The guy paid it and every time she takes the car to the wash all the guys triple check now to make sure what key goes to what car.

The lock cylinder on my Lexus froze up and had to be replaced. I think the new cylinder and a key was 600 bucks.

Talking

Took my twin 2 1/2yr old Grandson's fishing in the truck. Put the keys on the floor, and told them to wait while i got the rods out of the bed.

Close the door and hear click behind me, they're locked in!
They jump in front of the steering wheel and pretend they're driving
pushing every button they could except the door lock.

Luckily the back sliding window was unlocked and I got it open.

I said, "Boys give me the keys off the floor."

They said, "We can't, we're driving to Pennsylvania."

I hate having to go back to the dealer for anything. My car engine temp. runs cold now and the engine temp. varies a lot when driving (when you go over 70 mpg) . You can actually see the temp moving in about a 50 degree range. My garage doesn't know what the problem is and I'll have to take it back to the dealer and get ripped off.
