Long Weekend Plans ?? Independence Day Weekend
What's up for the weekend?
A little fishing (hopefully), perhaps a trip North.
Reflect a little on the birthday of this country and what it means.
So what's up for the weekend?

Leaving work at 3, grabbing the girl and driving through the night to Virginia Beach for 10 days. My buddy has his house and boat on the Chessy, will be cool to see where our fish are from. Mid week next week making the short trip out to Nag's Head for some outer banks camping for a night or two. Should be a relaxing week- much needed.

Yup, taking TDF and Luds out early, jig some macks and throw them amongst some local rockpiles for some fun..... Stoopid fishing. 16 baits got 14 fish this morning... Get them off plugging for a while...
Have switched to circle hooks to reduce having to keep any fish I don't "need."
Sunday working with a buddy jigging macks to stock his freezer for when they are gone....Two boats, ice and salt brine. Hope to get it done in a couple hours. Then up to NH to see a condo my BIL needs rehabbed ASAP and bring my mom back down for dinner and fireworks.
Safe travels to all!

Tonight I start my weekend with our acoustic act Bloodshot & Blue playing at the Ocean Deck in Marshfield.
Saturday if I behave myself tonight I'll hit the bay for sunrise. The wife is taking my son the Cape until Sunday so I can fish and take a nap without getting nagged. Sat night I have tickets to Paul Rodgers at Hampton Beach so it will be a late night.
Sleep in Sunday and hit the beach in the afternoon with my son or take him on the skiff for a late afternoon high tide jaunt on the Jones.
Monday will be spent with the wife and son probably on the beach.

Friday...GEt more pissed off as the day goes on and the mechanic continues to not have the damn truck exhaust maniflod repaired for the third time in five years.
As soon as this POS give me the truck and takes my next two months play moeny then the camper goes on and off to camp in the parking lots at Race Point. The damn birds got us in the lot but we have a geeat crowd already there so it's worth going.
After I get there its fish at night...eat all day.
Maybe a day trip into P-Town...mayber get an invte on a friends boat...good times for sure!!!!!
Seriously......my driveway looks like a nascar pit...all stacked up and ready to load the truck and camper but here is sit...WAITING.
I hate mechanics.

Fishing hard tonight. Sleeping hard tomorrow. Honey-do in the afternoon. Fish hard Saturday night. Sleep hard Sunday morning then some cocktails with my closest fishing buds, poolside. Watch whatever crap is on TV until I fall asleep then an early morning tide. Monday is for relaxing outside by the pond with some suds. Maybe I will re-read some of my favorite parts of 1776 by David Mc Cullough. An absolutely fantastic book about our countrys fight for independence.
I hate that the 4th is just a work holiday for some people. I appreciate what happened back in 1776 every single day. Even though the Declaration was signed on the 2nd of July, with this signing independence from Britain was formally declared .
So, with that said, Happy Independence Day!

I'll be sanding sealer tomorrow morning, then off to East Bridgewater to my brothers' house for a cookout. I can't wait.
Sunday more sanding sealer, then maybe do something with the family. Then pack for 5 days in NY next week. Monday I'll be spraying finish coats most likely.
not much time to fish , maybe sunday night if it works.

Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks tonight at the Melody Tent (wish me luck getting there ).
Sunday, riding with the Stan Gibbs group in the Bourne parade.
Other than that--fishing early morning/laste nights and being a prisoner of holiday traffic.

The Snappa
Going out with a few good friends and family on the “Snappa” with Charlie Donilon, it is our annual summer boat trip, then back to the rocks.
Also trying to keep my marriage from falling apart after 7 years.

went to the beach in tin boat , Cape, today with family so that is it for me as far as beach goes. Perfect day, weather, and no crowds, unlike everywhere this weekend. I saw the traffic was backed up from Sagamore Bridge to the Cranberry highway entrance on 25. Going to be a looooong wait to get over that baby. Why people try and drive down cape at 5 o'clock on Friday and holiday is beside me. Going my way, north, was easy as pie. BBQ tomorrow and then laying around lazy in the shade for the remainder. May go out Sunday nite for some boat fishing but you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be off the water by 7 and on my way home. Have a safe and fun weekend guys.

Monster party at our place today (60+ people). Golf tomorrow. Out in the boat with Jeanne Monday for a cruise on the Bay (her first this year as she hates my boat....not a bad thing in my opinion).
Off to San Francisco on business Tuesday morning for the rest of the week.

No boat, back in the suds.
