Na Larry. Those of us that have been lucky enough would heartily welcome you to the fold. Those that crap on it would only be the jealous ones that have never landed a nice fish.Trust me I've released 3 fish over 50 lb that were witnessed and most that doughted them never even landed one over 30 lb let alone over 50. Your time will come. Too many nice ones around and your a good fisherman. Ron

grass hopper,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

you must NOT puit your sense of self worth/accomplishment
into the hands of others!!

who shives a git what anyone on this board, in your ear, behind yer back, in the funny papers says about YOU and anything you do!! only YOU know the truth and one should NOT depend on the validation of others to either add to or take away the value of anyTHING you do in Life. this Life is toooooo short for that chit!!

so share your Trophy with those of us that will appreciate it properly and let the loathsome ones wallow in their own iniquities~~~
they like it better that way, anywho!!

I hear ya Larry but BD is right. I for one would be really happy to see you with a 50. The hell with the doubters. Besides you are a fixture on here, it seems most people only doubt the people they don't know.
I feel sorry for the fisherman who feel they have to always pop someone elses balloon and it is your decision and yours alone to decide what you will do with it ...stuff it, eat it, sell it, set it free.
The glory is all yours.

B Dawg that is the best piece of advice I have heard in a long time and I am going to remember it forever. Thank you.

I could give a crap what people think of me....I do not live my life according to what others think thats for sure! Its just that every time someone posts a pic of a BIG fish that they chose to keep there is always someone there to poo poo the accomplishment! If you folks don't like it why can't you keep your comments to yourself??? I agree its a wonderful thing when someone releases a beast to swim another day however when they choose to keep it and its their right to do so......I offer them congratulations just the same with no judgements or comments on WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE! Its not my place or anyone elses!!!

Thank you! This has been a BigFish rant brought to you in part by Zivnit Cereal!! So good its unreal!!!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

When some one posts a picture of a fish they are sharing their joy in catching it but also basking in the praise and recognition it engenders. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but deciding to kill a large breeder bass has consequences for many other people. Something well worth remembering.....and being reminded of from time to time.

It strikes me how once upon a time dead fish pictures were the norm in the freshwater bass fishery........and now they are a rarity (and something of an embarrassment). Same can be said for saltwater dead billfish pictures. So why is it that dead striped bass pictures are still so popular?

A dead fish is a dead fish. It may benefit you, but it isn't benefiting anybody else. Once that may not have mattered. Today the fishery is under enough pressure that possibly it does.

Fish responsibly.

Don't let the "chest beaters" get you down BF, nor the "tree-huggers". It's an ugly world full of people who LOVE to judge others, I've always enjoyed judging the judges,,, so in a sense, I guess I'm just as guilty. But I'm always happy for someone who's accomplished or met a personal goal, whatever that goal may be.
I hate when some of these self-proclaimed supa-stars make their snide comments on trying to knock it down. When someone is within the law, keep your negativity in your pocket. When a thread is created by a happy member who wants to share his happy story, be happy for em. If you want to preach about conservatism or complain about the way a fish was caught,,, start your own thread.

It's a shame when the dope who makes the snide remark about the "picture of a dead fish" in the other thread,......starts his own thread with what???....."All time favorite fishing picture".........with pictures of dead fish. What a joker.....or should I say CLOWN.

BF, if you catch a 60, can I fish with you pleeeease!!!!

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

If everyone here said the same thing or shared the same opinions this would be one boring site. Part of the charm of this site is the diversity of the knowledge or opinions.

The way I look at is, whatever they are saying about you, good or bad, at least someone is thinking of you. Go large and screw em.

At least that was my mantra when I was a cop and now I am retired. What day is it today?

BIGFISH, I'd just like to say in advance that your trophy is a okay fish, but there's no way it weighs that much or is that long.

I say post it and I for one will come to your defense, if I get mine before you I'll take the heat. Has far as I'm concerned the problem is with nets that scoop up everything indiscriminately, get rid of the nets and the stocks will recover including the forage fish like pogies. I think I may have to postpone putting down the smokes and start a new thread about C&R. It's like people bashing the Striper cup being a 5 month long big fish kill tournament....time for a smoke.
