Hey I love football, but I'm a reformed gambler, not a fantasy freak. That's why I like the pickem league. My kid does very well in fantasy leagues. Too much time for me.... And, yes, I was bad, real bad in my day.... Two grand on Saturdays, and Sundays I'd try to limit myself to four.... Dropped 12k one bad Sunday many moons ago. Was up 58k one year, gave that and more back the next... Still love to pick a winner though. Just can't back it up with mortgage money.

GOOD for you, Ross! glad to hear that you've laid that habit down.
i never had access to those kinds of ducketts, Thanks be to God!
i used to LOVE the horses. it was a BLAST to crunch the ##'s when handicapping the field, but i was break even for the most part until i learned how to read the thoroughbreds in the infield at Santa Anita one summer from this old Mexican dude. he saw me rippin' ticket after ticket for about three straight races; then, he told me the 4 things to look for on a horse once you've narrowed the field. the next 2 days i went to the window 18 times, 9 races each day, and it was the closing two days of the season!! what a RUSH!!
i always did very well at the track,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,bride and baby changed ALL that!
quit doing the roach coach cahhds 6 yrs ago. the wife didn't "get it" when i told her that $40~$60 per week was FUN and short money
it was prolly closer to a C note. glad to be away from THAT!
now i just do a pick-em pts value sheet for a Jackson a week, that pays BIG 1st thru 5th,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's why this Striperin' thang works so well for me,,,,,,,,,,,,,trading a negative addiction for a positive one!!
it feeds the BEAST, and is at least socially acceptable in certain circles.
