big eels
So I toss my green crab pot off the dock to start collecting some tautog bait for next month and I happen to check it the next day just to see if there are many green crabs around me. I get a few but picked up a bigass eel. So I put everything in my keeper and toss the pot back in while I Try and figure out how I could fish this thing. It is really thick and large. The next day I am showing a buddy this eel and for the hell of it pull up the crab pot and there is another even bigger eel in the pot, neither of these you can get your hand around. They are not really long just really thick.
Ideas on how to fish these? (I was thinking a 12/0 hook and just let it swim around Nomans or GayHead some evening on the drift.)

They suck to cast but the good news is they are too thick to ball up on you

I like the Nomans idea. You could run east as well and swim them under a balloon at the Sword.

Used to see them that big and bigger fishing the freshwater lake. Never fished one but I'll bet John is right on the casting. I would fish those off the boat at some of your favorite honey holes for the cow of a lifetime. Maybe try one of those spots we chunked bunker at all night long Jim.
Good luck!
