Wooden plug trivia question.
What's the name of the needlefish this guy makes?

Boom! Just like that. The game is over. It would have to be a Newport guy to get the answer or B.I.

Goose,
Ducharme is a great long time friend of mine. Extremely friendly and makes a needlefish that, if he really wanted to sell thousands, would sell out in many shops.

I know you guys are close. I made a lobster trip with him a few winters ago. They don't get much saltier than Marc. I ended up writing a profile about him for National Fisherman.

What does this needle look like? I've heard it discussed numerous times and never seen one.
Any one got a pic?

The one all the way to the left and the green one dead center and the yellow one to the right.
It's not a very detailed photo--but it is the one I had.

What makes them so special or better than other needles out there?
Just curious as I've always done very well with needles but some seem to produce better than others in certain conditions or locations

I think they tend to ride higher on a slower retrieve than other needles--so you can fish them in shallow rocky water.
But if you were to ask Marc, the builder he'd laugh and say (humble man that he is) that needles are nothing more than a stick of wood, you cast it out and reel it back in.

And, every Scud is unique... you need to look at a bunch and decide what style you want...
I used to have an original Scud that weighed ~4 ounces and would make John Holms blush, at least in girth!

Marc is a wicked cool guy. I fished with him one night in RI. I had never met him before. We ended up shooting the chit back at our trucks and I went home with a brown bag full of free needles. Really cool character.

Asking what his needles look like is a loaded question. Each is unique, no 2 blurples are the same. On Block you can go to Twin Maples and see a bunch hanging from a wire, easier to note the differences there.

And they all catch. For such a simple plug, they have accounted for some tremendous catches for me and my friends over the years.
John, I believe you missed one in your picture. Looks to be a solid black one just left of center in your picture (between the green SS's).
