48", maybe more!

Yup she was a big one, but she was the fall I took last night in Newport while fishing with Scott and Taylor.

While trying to climb up over some rocks to move to another spot, I lost my footing and fell backwards from about a 4 foot drop right onto my lower back and leg. I think I smacked my head cause the details are a lil fuzzy. I know my foot slipped do to the fact the korker boots have no grip in the toe.

I know it's also my fault for trying to move to quick and lack of judgement.

It's funny how even though I fell like a stone I managed to keep the reel and rod from hitting the rocks.

When I hit the jagged rocks below, my head lamp flew off and I broke my fall by landing on my bogs grip and pliers, not the best thing to land on.

The impact split my elbow wise open thru 5mm wetsuit, didn't rip the jacket or top just my arm.

Woke up today and was really feeling it, my back looks like old hamburg meat.

Stay aware of your surroundings and be safe.

Worst part was not one fish for all our efforts, what a difference a day makes!

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Glad it wasn't worse, sounds as though it could've been.

Be careful folks, you want to be around to fish another day.

Dude sorry to hear that, falling in the dark in unfamiliar territory doesn't make it any easier to regain focus.Glad to hear you made it OK.

Last month I took a ten foot back wards dive off a ladder and had a 45# heat exchanger land on my chest,I got lucky, only one bruise on the elbow.

Live bait sharp hooks and timing is all you need

Ouch, I feel your pain. The ditch not only skunked me a few weeks ago, slipped on rocks and popped lower back. The skunking only adds insult to injury..

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.

It’s scary how quickly things can go wrong… thanks for the reminder! Sorry that you got a little banged up but very glad it wasn’t worse.

yeah Im ok just bruised and sore. Im sure ill be sorer as the week goes on.

could have been a lot worse.

considering all the trips and wetsuit fishing and swimming and rock hopping i did i happy to say this was the only the second real fall so my ratio is still way up.
