Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

(NECN: Brad Puffer, Boston, Mass.) - One man is dead and his brother is in the hospital after a fishing boat capsized in Boston Harbor.

The Coast Guard launched rescue boats around 1:20 this morning -- after learning the Jacquelyn Ann did not return to shore the day before. Coast Guard officials searched for several hours before finding the two men.

A truck and empty trailer remained at the parking lot of this North Weymouth boat ramp Monday. A note left by the Harbormaster asked if anyone returned to call police. The Coast Guard had searched through the night for the small 17 foot boat, then this morning a fire was spotted on Little Brewster Island. One of two brothers had survived.

Mike Cella, U.S. Coast Guard:
"The boat had capsized, took a six or seven foot wave. He said the last time he saw the other individual, who was his brother, he was trying to swim to shore."

The other brother was eventually found, unresponsive in the water, and pronounced dead. His family identified him as 68 year old LeRoy Dunn. In a statement, his son said, "He was a great man and his family and three grandkids adored him. He was out on his boat doing what he loved to do and he really lived his life to the fullest."

Jerry Smith, boater:
"It's a tragedy it's a tragedy."

Jerry Smith and Joe Tenko were pulling out their boat Monday at the same ramp where Dunn has launched. For them, the season is now over.

Joe Tenko, boater:
"This time of the year the water is rough out there. You go out beyond the Hull gut and it gets rough. Our buddy was just out there and he said it was bad out there."

Harbormaster Paul Malone says this tragedy should be another warning to all boaters. He says neither man was wearing a life jacket.

"This is the second drowning we've had launched out of this ramp this year. It's very tragic. It's so important if you go out this time of year to wear a life jacket."

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Not good, I don't think with water in the 40's and 50's I don't think a PFD would have saved him. However, it does hurt to wear the new SOSpenders. I normally wear the belt inflatable on my boat

I couldn't sleep last night. I motored right past brewsters island in the dark Sunday night after tuna fishing. Unaware there was a castaway on the island no
doubt trying to flag me down.
