You're tempting me ...
Thanks for sharing .. as always
Pretty cool to see hardware [swivels] used in lieu of thru wire

Great stuff Numby... they don't build em like they used too... I like the clever use of a pinned swivel in the stern and 2 interconnected swivels for the belly hook/line connection.

No tricks they are pinned. When I first saw this plug and the pin I wondered why? My guess was to avoid thru drilling...better mouse trap?

I made a few that are not true to the original design... I wanted to improve on the casting and added a 1/4 diameter tail wt that is 3/4 inch long and used std thru wire method. I added swivels in the line tie spot since the cups are so deep.
I used Honduras mahogany that I had in the shop... looking forward to trying these... I think they should be excellent noisemakers

After landing my first BFT with Buzz this fall... I am always replaying that memory in my minds eye... now I do want to land a BFT on a spinning rod with a plug I have made... the Tuna that Buzz, OD Mike, and I brought home was caught on a squid bar on a sweet boat rod with a 2 speed big Penn International . It would be killer to catch one on a squid plug

Here is a picture of the first one I made thanks to PNG for his help and Bigfish for lending me an original. Throws a huge amount of water.
Fun to make for a change and they do catch Tuna. Ok so it was only one small Tuna but it did work.
