Glad to hear the first leg was a success as usual. Sorry I missed it, but life is too crazy right now. I think I'll have to be happy to get out for a few hours locally for now. Once its nice, I'll try to get my oldest daughter out of the house with me and maybe that will buy me some more time on the water.

John, did the wife inquire with you about a weekend at the Cape? I think its the 28th we are planning to go down... Let me know if you guys are interested. We'd like to see you guys.

Van, I've been out on the harbor for the past couple weekends. There are some fish around, buts its still pretty spotty from what I've seen and heard. Alot of radio chatter with people wondering where the fish were.

I skipped the early launch Saturday b/c low tide was a little after 6am, so I launched around 7am so I'd have some moving water. There were birds and bait and some fish in the main channel by the airport, but too many boats and I only got a couple of bumps.

Once we had some water, I moved over to the Neponset River and fished the mudflats at the mouth. There were alot of fish up in the shallow water and I was seeing swirls and casting to them. Caught a few schoolies... I moved a bit further up the the river and found the same thing on another mudflat, but the fish were a little nicer and I landed maybe 5 more, with back-to-back 26" and 29"ers on topwater to end the day. That was my first keeper of the season and I was having flashbacks to Florida 'cause the fish thought it was a tarpon. It thrashed around on top for several seconds before jumping twice then making a really nice run... it was a really hot fish.

Most fish came on bass assassins before I switched to a chug bug.

I marked alot of fish and bait in the Back River as well, so it seems like some fish have moved in... hopefully the bigger fish are out there as well.

I was so happy to be out Saturday in just a long sleeve shirt in the am, then the sky fell yesterday. What a nasty day. I'm so sick of my looking at the inside of my house.
