maybe the cape will finally get a decent snowfall this year instead of 2-3" and then five feet of rain. All this ice is making my yard look like a rink.

Too far out but at least one model is "ominous" This from the NOAA Weather site:

POLAR HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS ACROSS THE AREA ON WED...LAYING DOWN
THE FOUNDATION FOR A COLD AIR MASS TO PRECEDE THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM
ON THU. A SHARP UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL ADVANCE FROM THE
MIDWEST INTO THE OHIO VALLEY. DIFFERENCES IN HOW THE ECMWF AND GFS
HANDLE SURFACE FEATURES WITH THIS. THE 00Z GFS IS THE MOST
OMINOUS...WITH A COASTAL LOW DEVELOPING AND STRENGTHENING RAPIDLY AS
IT PASSES INSIDE THE 40N/70W BENCHMARK THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE 00Z
ECMWF HAS A MUCH BROADER/DISORGANIZED LOW OVER THE EASTERN U.S. THIS
BEING A DAY 7 FORECAST...WILL REFRAIN FROM GOING ANY HIGHER THAN LOW
CHANCE POPS FOR THE TIME BEING. TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 10
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY.

Next week's storm will do it ....

.... I'm going into hibernation.

Go to the intellicast infrared site for the US, play the animation and you will see the mass of polar air entering the northwest.

Intellicast - Infrared Satellite in United States

I'm making an igloo in the six foot high pile of snow at the end of my driveway and stocking it with the mackerel I caught last November and a small oil burner to burn a gallon of fish oil I have saved for such an emergency.

I'll be out April 1st.

1996 I plowed 26 storms total. Just not many of them were up over 1 ft in a storm.
We got 2 more months of this

I would prefer the Thursday storm blows on through, I don't need a massive dumping of snow to mess up flights for a few days, Sunday morning, 2/13, I am taking my 6-year-old daughter to Disney ... it will be both our first trip ... and I want it to run smooth down and back ... with high sun and warm 70s+ all week down there ... when we get home, it can snow all it wants ... but for now, my little princess has a date for a princess parade and lunch with Cinderella.

Thursday's storm, due to popular demand, has been moved offshore
to be replaced by next week's Saturday storm.

For those that look at this stuff

The NAO turned positive around feb 1st . We should have milder weather for a while, trends show it staying positive for at least the next week.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.
