Rotary derby 2011 ( Winni)

This past derby was one of the more pleasant derbies we have fished, surprisingly, for the second year in a row, we did not find a rainbow... but the lakers and Salmon fishing ( cant keep salmon or remove them from the water in NH through the ice)in 2 1/2 days, my partner and I iced 30 odd lake trout( on jigs and smelt baited tip ups) and released 4 salmon at the hole.. sunday I hung a 4.15 lb laker on the board that stayed in second place until the closing bell..missing the #5 spot by .15lbs...

here are a few pics..

first our view at day break... second was one of the first lakers of the opening morning... 3rd, my first salmon of the weekend... I'd love to meet up with that one again on open water.. my guess was about 5lbs.. and FAT..

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Awesome! My plan to get a laker through this year never came to fruition... Might have to take a trip to the 'Chu after ice-out to try and finally catch one.
