Went out boat fishing with The Clammer...

Last night and got to see something I had read about very often but had not seen from a aboat (just not the same from shore) - a worm hatch.... Conditions were decent as the rain and fog had cleared away at first and we thought we saw some baitfish getting chased as the sun was going down. Well, shortly after we noticed that the "baitfish" were indeed finning bass. Not sure what they were hitting, we tried several plugs and soft plastics that didn't produce a fish. Clamdigger got a few swirls and chases but by the time the sun was down and the current started to really go - we swithced to eels and almost immediately started getting bumps. Clammdigger had several fish from about 12-18 pounds and I had one about 10-12# fish but there was plenty bass slurping going on to stay occupied. Then the fog rolled in and the rain started...

Had a great time though!!! Thanks Clamdigger....

Later,

John
