I think I had the smallest fish of the night and that was it - a nice fat 10 pounder - there were bigger fish out there (we could see them boil) but they weren't hitting...

Froma nother thread...

Last night and got to see something I had read about very often but had not seen from a aboat (just not the same from shore) - a worm hatch.... Conditions were decent as the rain and fog had cleared away at first and we thought we saw some baitfish getting chased as the sun was going down. Well, shortly after we noticed that the "baitfish" were indeed finning bass. Not sure what they were hitting, we tried several plugs and soft plastics that didn't produce a fish. Clamdigger got a few swirls and chases but by the time the sun was down and the current started to really go - we swithced to eels and almost immediately started getting bumps. Clammdigger had several fish from about 12-18 pounds and I had one about 10-12# fish but there was plenty bass slurping going on to stay occupied. Then the fog rolled in and the rain started...
Had a great time though!!! Thanks Clamdigger....

Good deal boys, hope you didn't get caught in the torrential rain that came through my area around 3:15 this morning. Man it poured, so hard the bildge pump in the boat was working while it waited in the driveway .

I posted about my morning and actually weighed in the fish in the photo at Belsons in Scituate, so it's an official entry for the year long I guess. Weird I couldn't revive her, because she was hooked in the lip with a circle hook. Damn ugly fish though, scared on the side and all bloody on the dorsil fin.
