Registering a moped/scooter in RI - no title
I bought a 81 chappy yesterday . I bought it in MA. No title though . I got a bill of sale and an old registration . Will I be good at the DMV with no title because of the age? Or am I boned? ANy advice if I do need a title?

You have title when you bought the vehicle. Title is kind of like gravity, its there but you can't see it. your purchase of sales recipt is evidence of your title. Just hope the moped aint stolen, or you have a viodable title. If you bought it from a merchant you're fine, but if its from a personal saler, it will change the procedure a little i think.
I think you're fine in other words, just went over this in bus law class, so honestly I'm probly not your best source of information, just my 2 cents. good luck

Do not think it's stolen. I bought it off a gentleman priv seller , ( very nice , not shady at all) who had it for 23 years . He bought it off an 86 year old lady who was the original owner and rode it daily.
So it looks like I will be all set then ?
If anyone hears a loud buzzing at 230 am near the water this summer ....... Can't wait!!!

Chris you should be ok in RI believe the 10 year rule is still in effect in RI for having to have a title., but he can order a title for you in mass cost i think $50 bucks if RI give you crap.

Mopeds are like fat chicks.
They're fun to ride until your friends see you on one.
