Whale Watch info needed
We have some foreign visitors at work who would like to take a whle watching crews this weekend. Anybody know about this? Is it better to drive to P-town and shorten the boat ride or is it better to drive north or south of Boston and take a long boat ride? Do they need reservations? Any info would be helpful. Also need the info today! Thanks

Saltheart,
I went on a whale watch out of P-Town with the wife a couple years back. There are several boats there and you DO need a reservation. It was a short ride and tons of whales feeding, it was really cool. I have never been on a watch from north of Boston though, so I don't know the difference. All I can say is that the one out of P-Town was good. I would suggest you do a search on Yahoo (and I actually got a coupon off a website for that trip) and then make a reservation.

Saltheart, there are good whale watches from Plymouth and some north of Boston and they may be better than fighting Cape traffic this weekend... Reservations are recommended on the holiday weekends....
If you are out watching the wales, how you gonna fish????

John took the words out of my mouth--the choice is an hour drive to Plymouth and another hour boatride, or a 4+ hour drive to P-town averaging maybe 20 mph for the trip. The Mid-Cape Highway, and the last 6 miles of 25 leading to the Bourne Bridge, will be two good places to avoid from today until Wednesday.

RE:Whale Watch info needed
Thanks for all the help. I put together a package for them about the Capt John Boats out of plymouth and also supplied them with info on the boat out of Barnstable. I'm not going , just helping to steer them in the right direction. If it was me , I'd be heading to plymouth for certain. thanks again.

They went out of Plymouth and had a great time. In addition to the boat ride and whale watching , they looked around in Plymouth too.
