If the players vote goes through, sounds like teams will be able to sign their own Free Agents this afternoon, and start negotiating with other teams FAs... Will be able to sign them tomorrow. Trades can be negotiated this afternoon as well.
Pats and Eagles report to camp on Wednesday. Raiders choose to forgo camp, knowing it's a lost season anyway
Any thoughts on where the marquee FAs are going to end up?
Wishlist for the Eagles is Doug Free to play RT and Ray Edwards for DE.
I'm hoping the Brett Farvre to the Eagles as backup to Vick rumors are true. What could be better than that?
In all seriousness, I figured they'd get the deal done. Too much money lost if they miss the season.
Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio
Ochocinco will give his all for the pats. As irritating as he can be I look forward to hearing his interviews on T&R. He also did a ton for the Cincinnati community, and I'd expect that to continue in New England. He wants to play for Brady and Belichick. I think that's a good pickup.
Now... Haynesworth?? Only way I see it being a good deal is if they trade him immediately to a 4-3 team. Or install a significant amount of 4-3 plays, and hope that the other personnel on the team can fit into it. He refuses to play NT, and also 3-4 DE unless he's told to just hit his gap... And his contract is $12 mil over the next two years. His lack of effort on the field and off-the-field issues are insane.
IMO his risk far outweighs his possible reward.
As an Eagles fan I've had some fun laughing at him the past couple of years.
I am so pumped for this season. There's no way Belichik or any of the veterans in the locker room will let that garbage fly from those guys. Not worried in the least. But other teams should be. Warren, Wilfork, and Haynesworth up front. Ocho as a deep threat. Welker, Woodhead, and Edelman moving the chains. Brady at the helm. Unstoppable
Todays cuts, some may be back. Defensive tackle Ty Warren was released, along with fellow D-lineman Marcus Stroud, tight end Alge Crumpler, offensive tackle Nick Kaczur, cornerback Tony Carter and linebacker Ryan Coulson. As anticipated, linebacker Tully Banta-Cain was also released.
yeah so much for the big three up front. Warren is gone. Pats still have to be the favorites to win the SB after Nnamdi signed with the Eagles though( they're looking pretty good too).

Because you guys traded for a chronic malcontent and an aging wide receiver? <--- Kool-Aid
I think the Pats are one of the top teams in the AFC, but not due to yesterdays moves. They just normally are... Good depth, coaching, and QB play. But SB favorites?
PS, Ocho's not a deep threat... He's more of an X receiver, dig routes, curls, etc... ~12 yd avg/catch over the past three years, not going to go long. But he'll get open over the middle. You guys still need someone to stretch for Welker (Tate?).
Heck, I don't even think my Eagles are a 'favorite' yet- Road to SB goes through Green Bay, and they'll be even better this year with a number of injured players returning.

I already expected the Pats to make it to the SB this year regardless of any moves they were going to make. Last time I checked, the oddsmakers had them as the co-favorites with GB to win it all and that was before the big moves. But seriously, how can you not say the Pats are at least favorites to win the AFC? Haynesworth is downright nasty when he's playing his natural position on the outside. He will make more of an impact than Chad. BTW, Chad has almost 11,000 career yards. I would say he definitely has the potential to go deep and most analysts are saying he still needs to be accounted for down the field.
That's a joke the Jets are the best team in the East. they don't even have a QB! We crushed them by 40 points last year! Granted we still lost to them in the playoffs, but Rex was playing a zone defense that Belichick wasn't ready for. I guarantee he'll be ready this season...
