It's bad enough if a knot you tie comes undone but, when it is on a rig you purchased…
Nils and I went back to Quonny yesterday. Nils hooked into a cow that pulled him around for 20 min in the yak'! Got him into the backing on his braid and then... The knot on the TnW he purchased came untied at the tube! That was a heart-breaker!
So… make sure you retie those rigs when you buy em' (doesn't matter from where) so you only have yourself to blame - or not!
A good time to consider making your own tubes . Nils - sorry you lost a cow but it does happen - sometimes even if you tie your own. But now you have one more "The One that Got Away" story
a cow that big would require a bit more of something to tire it out
so the yak could still be pulled but not so easy....they're expensive (drift socks $50.00) but sometimes help in a slow drift situation and they're better than using a bucket for storing it away. Sorry! to hear that Nils... anyway just a thought.... after a close encounter with a fish that large you become haunted. then it becomes a quest.
I know that i'm more determined after having several large fish snap my line.
if there is a rig I use...I tied it...good or bad...so no one to blame but myself! not to mention MUCH cheaper!
funny i saw on another site they were selling a rig I have tied myself for years for $5 each! (mine cost me about $1 a piece at most...and I dont have to pay shipping either!!! )
