Bar Harbor
Has anyone fished this area before? I'm fishing from the shore. Is the water going to be to cold? I'm going tomorrow and was trying to determine what to bring. I'm assuming it might be like Mass in April. Any help with spots or what to use would be appreciatted. Thanks. How about Live lining some mackeral?

The best I can do
Bonefish,
check out the water temp map here. It's from today and they had a little cloud cover so it doesn't get all of the coast but it should clue you in.
Maine now is more like our May/June was this year. We were buttass cold. Remember ?
Good Luck and I sure those mac's will work but I know that Herring are running up there and like they say ......."When in Rome......"

Thanks for the good info. Maybe I will buy some frozen herring and chunk them up there. Can you reccomend any good spots from shore?

I wish I new some spots up there but I have never fished up that way. There was a thread a week or so ago talking about maine stripers and a herring run in the Kennebec.
That's about all I know.
Best of luck.
Maine is beautiful

I have been to Bar Harbor several times. I do not think you will find any striper action up there. Fro what I have seen it is all cod and mackeral fishing. I asked a few locals about stripers and they looked at me like I had a head growing out of my butt. But good luck and I hope you find some bass action. Need a great place to stay, a bed and breakfast right down town Bar Harbor is Admirals Quarters. Great place and great owners. Also, about 30 minutes further north on route 1 is a diner called Moody's. If you want the best meal you ever had, make sure you eat at Moody's Diner. All homemade food and this is no exaggeration. Moody's is in Waldoboro, Maine. Enjoy.

Sorry Pops02 and Bonefish, I got my Bar Harbor mixed up with my Boothbay Harbor. I have been to both and nobody there seems to know what a striper is.
