karaoke and dj equipment for party

I am helping plan a friends 40th party and want to rent a quality karaoke/ dj set up. I want something that has a pa and is self service. I dont want a dj. Im pretty sound system savy from working with band equipment and can run it. i want to make sure its quality with some power and not some plastic stand alone karaoke unit.
This is in the s/e Mass area. Anyone have this kind of equipment or have any experience renting?
