Plenty of bait today the boat came in this morning and the 2nd boat should be in this afternoon.
Last week the bait was gone by late friday and they only had junk on Sat. & Sunday.

There schedule seems to be Tuesday & Thursday that the boats come in.

Is there a good place nearby to get chum? I heard of a place in Raliegh but if there's something closer, that would be better. Or could I just grind up some herring?

The 2nd boat came in this afternoon They are open Saturday at 5:00am

Grind up the herring for chum.

With the dogs around you may not want to chum. I didn't do any chuming last Sunday and i still got dogged out.

Well, if you're not chumming, are you trolling the herring? My other option I guess would be live bait, but I haven't been too successful with that as of lately.

What is the price for the herring, 5 gal bucket, tote?

Chuming-- ground up herring or what ever

Chunk chuming-- small cut up pieces of herring that you cut up.

Chunking-- a chunk of herring 2"-4" piece

When chunking you don't troll, you anchor or you drift. Sometimes you use a sinker and other times you let it drift with your chum with no sinker. the more line you let out with out a sinker the deeper your bait will go. Slack tide or ebb tide baits with no sinker will go deeper. Running tide baits won't go deep need sinker some time Need to use judgement.

5gal.----- $ 10.00

Tote------$ 18.00 4-5 5gal. to a tote

Pays to have a freezer new or old. When I buy my totes I freeze 4 buckets and grind the 5th one for chum chum. Mix little at a time with water last long time that way.

Your welcome Glad to be of help.

What they do is they ship some in tanker trucks to other places, they also process some of it and they also sell it as bait here.

I just can't believe how quick 500,000lbs go in a couple of days.
