Night not meant to be

Slingah and I fished for a while late last night. We should have stayed home.
The night started off bad when after a nap, I loaded up the truck to meet him, went to start the truck and realized I left my keys sitting on the book case in my apartment that is now locked. Great. Strike One. The woman is down visiting her mother in Westport, so she couldn't come back up, I have a new landlord and don't know his number, and there is no one in the other aparments home. Since my rods and gear got thiefed, the woman made me turn the place into Fort Knox, so no getting in. Fortunately had a spare set of truck keys at least in the truck, so off I went to meet Slingah. Since I was running late, decided to take a "faster" route to the spot, but ended up getting all messed up, driving around in circles. Strike 2. Get there, we gear up and head out. The bugs at this place were so bad that they were dangerous. Off bug spray does not keep no see 'ums off. It was like torture. We fished that spot until high, then wanted to move to another spot for the turn. Fishing along the way, Slingah has a mishap in mid cast that sent his Danny Swimmer into orbit out into the dark unknown. He had just lost a bucktail to the rock monsters, and after the tire incident of the other night, he was determined to get it. We could see it floating along in the current, just out of reach. I waded out to the brim of the waders and after many attempts of snagging it, I performed a circus act sort of move and snagged it with my rod tip. Lesson to be learned, carry a big rod. With that mission accomplished, we double time it to the new locale. We get there and the fish were so thick you could have walked on them. They were busting bait every where. We had grand visions in our heads, not to be had. We threw absolutely every imaginable thing we had with us from eels to rocks to try and get a fish. We couldn't even snag one. It was demoralizing. They seemed to be feeding on little one inch minnows that I am guessing were post spawn herring. There were some heavy sounding fish mixed in. Strike 3, no fish. we gave up about 3:30 to head back when the rock monsters got me. One jumped up and grabbed me, so I dove into it and kissed it. Got to get x-rays of the knee today since it is about the size of a football. Need to add knee pads to the gear list. After nearly passing out and hobbling back to the truck in agony, got to drive home and sleep in the truck in the driveway. Wicked comfortable with a busted knee. The landlord has been redoing the upstairs apartment, hammering away everyday at 7am, so I figured I would have no problem, he'd get there at 7. let me in, I'd take a shower and get to work by 8:30. Well, he decided to sleep in today too. Showed up around 9:15. Got out of the truck and alsmost fell on my face in agony. I was nice and late for work. Oh well. So, there are fish around, and Slingah and I couldn't catch a cold we're so bad. What a wicked pissa night.
Who want's to give me a piggy back out to the spot tonight? I'll bring the 12 gauge and net.

Unhappy

Redlite and Slingah...report of last nights activities. Joe and I fished a Scituate spot from 9:00-4:00 am. We bit the big one also. I made sure I did not lock my keys in the house....there were no bugs....we both lost a blurple mambo minnow, 1 snag, 1 breakoff,....there were no physical injuries during our night out however the mental damage done to us by the total lack of participation on the part of the fish was just demoralizing. Just two schoolies all night. So I hope you feel a little better Redlite, we suck too! Hope your knee feels better. Have a great weekend. Sleep now...

Almost time to get our fish on!!!
