Bluecrab in Marblehead!?!?

A local diver found a bluecrab inside a Marblehead harbor cove that was about 6-7" across. He brought it over for me to see,as he knew I wouldn't believe him..... Haven't seen one up here in all my life. Nor heard of them here. Strange season continues. Hoping we could see some albies locally...........

been a crazy year, water is so warm, which i hop leads to a longer season.

you see the 35lb redfish caught on the cape on an ava tin?

i found one in maine this summer. looked them up online and found that the range is from bermuda to nova scotia, but that was the first i'd ever seen up here. used to catch them in the canals in delaware as a kid on vacation.

There were pelicans off Peaked Hill yesterday. As reported by scallop boat I buy from.

100% without a doubt pelicans.

Water temp in Cape Cod bay is 76

I usually go 1 time/year. I use to do the chicken and string thing but last year we went to a marsh at night w/a light and a long handled net. Much more productive. Picking out the meat is still a lot of work.

last week the water temp at the east end was 58.8 and outside of barnstable was 75.5 with in the same hour. Need a week of SW to blow that hot surface water out where it belongs...

We've been killing the black seabass this year and Christian took pics of a pelican in the middle of an airport blitz.

A diver in Gloucester shot a triggerfish this week. Another diver shot a queen trigger in southern CCB. If you have never seen a queen trigger, imagine hooking into one of these pretty girls:

Good eats too.
