Made my first trek to Bucko's this morning.
Needed to get three Shimano reels redone and cleaned up before I go to the Vineyard. Wasn't hard to get to from E.B. Only made one wong turn. The poor guy out back had his hands full though it looked like. Mike took care of me quickly and I was out the door in no time.

I've used them once before. Completely rebuilt an old Penn 50 for me. Quality work and really reasonable prices. If they were closer, I'd drop all my reels off with them every winter.

I had them fix the anti reverse on a Penn for $35 a few years back. It broke again after being used once for schoolies. When I called and told them it was broken again, they said to bring it in again and they'd fix it. I asked if they were gonna charge me and he said yes. Eff that, I fixed it myself for the price of an anti reverse ball bearing. Crappy customer service at that place.
On a side note, I now own only one reel that has anti reverse. It's just one more thing that can break on a reel.

Minor snafu at Bucko's
Called Bucko's last night to inquire how far along they were with my Shimano reels (3). Its been a month since I dropped them off. Girl told me what was wrong with each one and how much the repairs were, and that they were finished. I asked her when they would be sending them to me and she said it was noted in the computor that I was coming in to pick them up. I left my credit card number with Mike and watched as he wrote it down, so they would be sent back to me via USPS. Girl appologized and said they would be in the mail this morning. The only reason I called it was noted on my receipt that it would be one week for the repairs to take place. I was trying not to be pushy, because I didn't need them until I go to the Vineyard. I guess I should have called earlier.

Why didn't you send them directly to Shimano?

Didnt know I could.....du'oh! One 8000 and a 4000 sustain were only in the $40.00 range, another 8000 was over a $100.00 because I had worn out the main gear reeling in cows at the ditch.
