2 nice longfin albacore brought aboard the Valhalla Rising over the weekend. It was a tandem fight on these two fish, the bigger one went 60lbs and the smaller close to 50lbs.

OK, here's the video. For those with GoPro, using a chest mount for first time.
Warning: take your Dramamine BEFORE watching!

Nice work. IMO that makes the best tuna salad you will ever eat! I love longfin.
Gald you saw some action...it has been an odd year at the edge this season.
For everyone that does not fish offshore very often, the night before take a Bonine or scopalimiean (sp?) pill or patch. And take another before you leave the dock. Generally you will be fine.
Those long trips can take its toll on your body (esp when you are > 50 yo) getting seasick on top of it will dehydrate you and you will really feel like hell.

Here's one way, do you make tuna salad now?
Step 1> throw away the canned albacore tuna
Step 2> grill fresh albacore so on the well done side
Step 3> place in bowl and using fork mash the tuna into small flakes
Step 4> continue as you would normally
For me, normal is a dash of Miracle Whip (or mayo), a heaping tablespoon of sweet pickle relish or freshly diced sweet pickles and stir to uniform, spread on bread, eat.
I have done blue fin tuna this way also and is was also the best tuna salad I have ever had.

They all sound good, here is how my personal chef does it:
She uses the bluefin scraps or leftover tuna but fresh longfin is the best for Tuna salad.
She steams fresh tuna till done
Then adds a little oil because it will be too dry
Salt, celery onion and mayo to taste
Chill and place on fresh greens for a light summer supper, serve with white wine and a smile
