Dennis Zambrotta- Book Talk CT Surfcasters meeting October 3rd

Dennis the good guy that he is (and as a real author should)- has agreed to come to the CT Surfcasters October 3rd meeting to sign and promote his new book- Surfcasting Around the Block.

He is going to talk about his book and offer some informal advice on surf fishing Block. I expect there will be a good question/answer time.

So if anyone wants to come- its free and don't have to be a member.

It's at the Madison Connecticut Town Surf Club meeting room. The address for your GPS should be 87 Surf Club Rd, Madison CT. Its exit 61 on 95.

Thanks Dennis and I understand the Book is already a success.

Yes 7pm is the meeting. But Dennis would not say anything until around 7:45 or so- after the dancing girls act.

Usually, but PM Big Tim just to be sure he has them.

Last year DZ's talk on needlefish plugs was very very informative and interesting. Did you know the Musso Wadd come about because the Block guys needed a needle thick enough that they could rig it with 5/0 trebles without the belly hook flopping over the back of the plug and hanging up? Dennis knows stuff.

Awesome finally getting to one of these. I was the "one new member" called out during the club business portion of the meeting (fat guy in the blue T-shirt )

Dennis was better than advertised... obvious from the talk that that man has forgotten 10 times the (fishing) information than I have learned in my life... he was recalling winds/tides/spots/etc with amazing fluidity in thoughts... great speaker and fisherman.

Can't wait for Nov!

Scratch 59; glad you enjoyed Dennis. Lots of info to gather in one night. His knowledge of the island presented to the membership is a great starting point for all. Tides, wind direction and locations is important to success. I wish we had another hour to go over different area scenerios.

Had a great time - your organization is top notch with some great leadership and member participation. Wish I had more time to speak - I can go all night if the questions are there. I apologize for not having more books on hand but demand for it has clearly caught me by surprise and I'm now completely out - expecting another delivery from the printer this week. That said please support your local businesses - River's End had about 8 copies left yesterday when I stopped there on the way to the meeting.

Thanks much to Mike Mullen and Rob Cohn for the needlefish plugs. I'll put them to good use. Good luck to all on your Block trip, stay safe, keep the island clean, and ask the Island Bound Book store to carry the book.
All the best.
