Leap from space
Anybody watching or care about this guy jumping from 120,000ft and trying to break the sound barrier?
Just passed 85,000

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

I saw it. It was thrilling when he leaned forward off the platform to become airborne!
I was amazed at how fast he decelerated when he started hitting the nearer atmosphere.
I was also surprised at how fast he got his tumbling under control once he had atmosphere to work with.

Can you imagine the imaging technology both vis & IR used to film a guy falling from space!

It would have been nice to see what he saw. An on board camera would have delivered some cool shots and video.

There were the whole time.
And cameras on his suit.
This was live broadcast on the net and on Discovery Channel yesterday.

I haven't seen any footage from the suit camera after he stepped off.
All they had on the live stream were long shots and then helo shots after they found him after he opened his suit.

The suit camera shots will be for a new Redbull ad.
It was wild seeing how fast he dropped when there was no atmosphere to contend with. It looked so surreal to see him drop out of sight in a couple of seconds.
The one comment that struck me as interesting was that this suit technology could someday benefit NASA.
Imagine if they could develop a suit that would allow an astronaut to vacate a disabled ship in orbit, and allow that person to safely decend back to earth? I know it's a long way off from being done, but just imagine the possibilities????

DITTO but I think the video's exists. Pretty sure many people would get dizzy during the uncontrolled spinning in the early part of the dive, but if the camera's show no reference point maybe hard to tell?

Most of the on suit footage is for a BBC documentary of his jump.

look down the article, there is a helmet cam shot of the spin in slow motion.
I'd paste it here but I get video blocked on my corporate network.
