I've built two peep sights for guys that wanted them made of wood, Mike. But you could also cut the bottom out of a 5 gallon bucket and put in glass or plexi and silicon it. (they just don't float upright) Local shop has the 6' dip nets, but hope you can find them more local to you.

What is the purpose of the plexiglass, would it be a view finder to the sand?

Mike, I am slammed with work right now. Which is a good thing, but comes with a price... Not a big thing, but couldn't do it until mid late December. Let me know what you want to do. I would suggest the bucket for this year and I get you a wooden built for next year. First weeks are best price and better fishing anyway.
Walking on the seed? For bay scallops? At this time of year? That makes no sense.
