Healthy eating out the window from Thanksgiving to Christmas!

It is impossible to eat healthy during the holidays. In addition to the big feasts on Thanksgiving , Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (not to mention the whole New Years thing) , you have another dozen bad eating days for going out with friends or christmas parties at relatives and friends , etc.

I have to admit that I just forget about "what" I'm eating and just try to keep "how much" I eat within reason. It seems to me that portion control is the only way.

I'll be going to some Christmas gatherings where there will be 10 to 15 desert things. You have to try everything or whoever bought or made it will be insulted. I try to have just a sliver of this and that. The downfall is when one of the deserts is just sooooooo good you have to go back for another (bigger) piece.

Of course there are the special main course items that people only make once a year , like Fava Beans or Scungili salad so you must eat them. Then there is the turkey , ham , prime rib....etc. You can't win!!

On top of that add the beer , wine , egg nog , liquores and the whole holiday season is a disaster for trying to eat healthy.

I suppose the bottom line is that when it comes to food, on your death bed you'll perhaps crave another piece of Christmas Fudge but I doubt you'll wish for one more bowl of bran flakes!

Exactly..tough to watch the waist expand over the holidays. Come February through April I start trying to lose the excess the magically appeared over the off season.

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.
