				Chuck Hagel

Fuster Chuck - time for him to withdraw himself for consideration.
It is pretty clear that defense is going to take a hit in O's second term - Sequestration or no sequestration. Who do you want at the helm, Barney Fife (Hagel) or someone else?

				 | He's got a stellar resume...his performance last week was pretty pathetic. Even more so that the republican senators didn't even ask him a credible question, it was all grandstanding for the cameras.Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device

				 | And all of the difficult, challenging questions the Democrats asked. Gee, too bad he didn't have any softballs asked.
*WE* should demand better regardless of party.

				 | What qualifications for Secretary of Defence can be learned from being in combat in Nam ? Hagel makes statements and has positions that P.O.s people and then offers apologies for his actions. When I was in the military, I never knew of a high ranking officer to do that. They just did things differently. Never operate from a position of weakness. Chuck Hagel is not the right man for that job. |

				 | He lasted longer than I thought he would - which was still too long.

		| However, Arizona Sen. John McCain, the expected incoming chairman of the Armed Services Committee, said on local Arizona radio station KFYI 550's "The Mike Broomhead Show" that he spoke with Hagel last week and the Defense secretary was "frustrated."

"They're gonna say well it was time for a change and all that...but I can tell you he was in my office last week, he was very frustrated," McCain said, with a lack of strategy to combat ISIS, help the Ukranians and what McCain called "a lack of U.S. influence...unknown in history."

McCain said, despite the fact "White House people are leaking, 'Well, he wasn't up to the job,' believe me, he was up to the job" — and that the real issue was the White House itself.
"It was the job that he was given where he really was never really brought into that real tight circle inside the White House that makes all the decisions," he said.
