great spot. You could run to Newport reefs and Beavertial for short gas. On the downside if you want bunker, you'll need to motor up into the bay and that could be a haul.
I fished the livin hell out of House on the Rock area, just outside the cove. You have structure, a big hump, rocks, moving water and the depth goes from under 10 ft to 80 in a matter of feet. I cant tell you how many nights I spent drifting eels up tight to the rocks, over the hump, in the cove, NADA. All times of the year. It has all the makings of a trophy spot but I never got any fish there at night, maybe a few 10-12 lbers, but thats it. I suck.

Slightly off topic, but I read an article the other day that said that the AIS data is much too public and some people are using it to commit crimes of various sorts. Expect the AIS signals to be encrypted or something similar if the article is right.

Really digging the marina so far. Everyone super nice and a lot if fisherman. Gotta get used to the out haul slip though. It's pretty damn tricky.

The stern is tied to a main line on pully, and the bow is tied of on a pile on. Theres a ladder from the dock to get on the boat. you pull the boat toward the ladder and hop on. when you get off you ppull it away with the pully. Its actually pretty slick. here a photo I took
