Darter ID?
Anyone know who made this? Appears to use brass sinker eyes as hook hangers, has an "S" stamped into the belly lead. About 6 1/4" long and weighs 2.12 ounces.

Looks like Frech's design, but whether it is his or one made from one of his articles I don't know.

Thanks George. It doesn't have a finish on it, so I think I'll just put a thin coat of etex on it and fish it this season.

Missed this when it first came out. Frech's weights are molded with an F. I have a couple that I can take pics of.

Frechs smallest darter was 6 5/8 " long. If you want I can dig out my drawings I made of Frech's and check where the lead was located. His lead weigh 1/2 oz. In both size darters. The larger of the two darters he made was 7" long I think and he made it to troll for his buddies who owned boats. Both were made from maple dowls. Larger one had a 1/2 lead weight in it as well.

The rear 1 1/2" are too sloped for it to be a Frech. It might have started out that way by the builder, whom I dont think was Frech. I have put together everything written about his darters and made drawings from his measurements from plans that were found and published. One has to go to all the documents and put them together, to come up with the exact plug to copy. I wil post them later today for the 6 5/8" darter.

Frechs' 6 5/8 darter plans
If you notice that the rear of the darter starts sloping 1 1/2" away from the tail and then drastically slopes to the to the tail from only 1/2" away. Very unlike what is pictured above.
