Black Cherry tree

Anyone have Black Cherry trees? Its bark looks like burnt cornflakes and has small fruit that stains everything in the fall...Mine is losing a lot of leaves already.... Was wondering if this is normal during/after a spell of heat with little rain. Wouldn't mind taking it down, but would be expensive and is not in the budget. If I did, it would be nice to have the wood milled.... And then there would be the cost of new privacy trees and loss of shade late in the day.
