I took my girlfriend surf casting a couple of years ago to show her what it was all about. I cast out a pencil popper and hooked upright away and handed her the rod. She lands a 9 lb bluefish and the tail hook had exited through its eye. "Well sweetie.. It doesn't get grosser than that.. Sorry". Then as I bent over to preform surgery it threw up a huge whole Atlantic herring.
Needless to say she had never gone since.
Then I took her spearfishing and I shot a big eel. She freaked out and thought I had killed some magnificent rare endangered beast.
Again. She hasn't gone since.
Clamming... She loves the hunt for clams so that's what we do together now.
