Block by boat report

Was around Block all day yesterday on a charter with my 10 year old. Trolled around SWL for a while, not much going on, fleet of about 25 boats, nobody doing much.

We went beyond the edge of the fleet to drift eels, and ran into a school of big sea bass that attacked the eels non stop. Kept a few.

Wanted to head south of the island for fluke, on the way we spotted a big whale, no idea what kind, that was cool to see.

South of the island, had a steady pick of decent fluke to 6 pounds, some more nice sea bass, couple of dogs and sea robins.

An OK trip. First time in many years that we didn't do great on stripers. Good for my 10 year-old to learn that not every trip, is the trip of a lifetime.

Very nice day out there.
