I think I will go for the poly-planer unit +speakers. I see them selling on line for a pretty reasonable price.

Van, 200 watts! I hope we boaters don't end up like todays teens in automobiles where the fellows' stereo in the car next to me is too loud and my car vibration is annoying and both his and my windows are rolled up.
I wish my VHF would broadcast @ 200watts then I could talk to you RI guys on 69. I think the longest distance I have gotten out of my VHF is about 20 miles on a good day and I have a good antenna and radio.
