Being a former operator maintenance electrician on the bridge for a few years I made a call and the bridge is in operation! You are not allowed to fish from the bridge or any of it's structure at all, it is federal property and if the army corp wanted they could make many arrests for trespassing, I used to come back to work after most weekends and have to clean up after the fisherman/woman that visited over the weekend I swear fisherman are the biggest slobs too. On another note you guys wouldn't believe the size of some of the fish I have seen just swimming against the tide on the edges of the piers, was amazing the lures, bait, etc that people would throw out there and the fish would just hang ten watching the world go by. Many times if I had a net handy could have scooped up dinner, great place to fish as long as you dont mind the other people or the structure of the canal that consumes lures by the hundreds! By the way I am keeping all of the lures I have found stuck to the bridge and you can't have em back
