Sure I've done Stellwagen and Jeffries. Oh yeah I occasionally launch out of Gloucester (nice ramp behind the high school). I've done Tilles as well when I launch there.
Major benefits I like about trailering are:
1) mobility, I can fish from maine to Rhode Island without too much trouble.
2) loading, I like loading the boat in my driveway. Much easier than going from the house to the truck to the boat back to the truck back to the house.
3) cleanliness, There's no build up on the bottom, zincs last much longer, and I get a chance to dowse the entire boat in fresh water after use which extends the life of everything.
4) maintenance, Much easier to work on the boat in the driveway.
5) fuel costs, road gas is much cheaper as we all know.
The downsides as I see it are the limitation on beam (102") and the wear and tear on the truck.
All toll I think trailering is the way to go. At least until I step up to a bigger boat which I'd love to do down the road.
Nice rig you go there. Looks almost brand new. How do you like your motor? I crusie at about 28 and top end is about 35 to 38 depending on conditions.
