Make sure you start on a good clean level surface, the last few floors I've done, I put down Hardi-Backer board as a subfloor, it's good stuff easy to use and it cuts with a razor knife.

I like start from the middle and work out, with the goal of same size cuts on opposite walls.

you'll need a wet saw for cuts around corners, if the job is small enough you can use it for all the cuts , but a manual tile cutter is the fastest for lots of straight cuts. Nippers are also a big help.

Premix thinset speeds the job along nicely.

When it's time to mix the the grout remember to add water before the grout.
have two 5gal buckets one for the clean water and one to ring out the dirty sponge from cleaning the tiles/grout lines.

Moldings around the perimeter of the walls make a nice clean look.

remember to lots of extra tiles for inevitable mistakes.

-Good Luck
