The good:

They work, catch fish and cast well. I like the packaging and cost. My favorite place to use them is from a boat working a rip..they sink great and look real. perfect for edge working on a lightish rod.

The not so good:
How many time do you put them on, feel one good tug and pull up a half storm? I like em but I think they (among others) are starting to cause a problem. What happens when a fish consumes the tail? I read in a fishing mag that 1 billion rubber bodies are made each year. I am no tree hugger but that is a lot of plastic. I see lots of cut bodies scattered on the beach. I think there will be push to come up with a bio-safe plastic of sorts.

This season I picked up a couple of real big rubba fish for trolling. I got a few bass but then one mighty blue severed a 15 buck rubber fish clean off. Good idea but thats that.

The GS stuff is also very good. I like the ower hooks and have found a new source for the sled-heads that I think work great. Too much of a hassle doing wrapping the wire or soider thing for me but that works too...he clearly has mastered the art of the rubber eel...al and lou (from the al-lou eel) would be proud of him.

So while I have a few bags of storms and couple planos loaded with GS stuff in the truck and boat, I tend to use them less often now and opt for wood or hard plastic lures or live bait.
