The only way to nail t&G siding is right through the tounge on approximatley a 45 degree angle. Only face nail when you have to, as for nails, definatley a 2 t0 2-1/2" stainless steel ring shank siding nail, galvy's will eventually bleed. If you have access to a compressor, rent yourself a nail gun you will have it done in no time, if not bang the nails leaving about a quater inch and finish it off with a nail set. setting them just slightly so it will not hang up in the groove of the next piece. Nice clean job, no nails showing. Hope this helps.
