I have been using PP since it came out pretty much and I have to agree in the early days it was hit or miss. Some spools were great and others sucked. MikeP is right there were some spools back then that you could break 50# test with just a hand pull. Others were fine. However IMO this is no longer a problem. I have not had a "bad spool" in a few years. Last year I fished it on nearly every spool (spin and conv) except on my tuna stuff.

With all the good feedback about suffix I am going to put it on a few reels this spring. Tell me, how does the diameters compare for the same # test? and how is the castability of the two?
