Personally, I'd stay away from them,.... there are ankle deep spots that I fish that still send water high enough to do damage. A wave that might brake at your knees is still sending water upward along your legs...up toward the creases of where your wader belt is trying to keep water out....I've come to learn over the years ,,,that water has a way of finding a path in or out of an imperfect seal...and unless your in a dry suit, it's imperfect.
Plus...you'll be limited on that day that you need to get out a just a little further and those small rollers are still high enough to keep you back away from where you need to be...........just my opinion, I'm sure there are scenarios that would accommodate those style pants..(fresh water stream?
