Where you are fishing, I have over the past few years seen some pretty respectable fish come from right there by drifting chunks of mackeral ( no weight). It may look flat there to the unobservant eye, but if you walk around there at low tide you will infact find that you are fishing onto a monsterous mussel bed. I have stopped by there several times this year so far, but all I have seen anyone catching to this point have been skates by people fishing clams on the bottom. Good luck.
