FWIW, there is no sales tax on boat sales in RI, nor is there tax on the motor if it's already part of the boat. There is sales tax on the trailer.

IMO, it's best to have two bills of sale. One for the boat/motor and one for the trailer. It'll avoid some of the potential confusion at the DMV regarding the trailer value.
