Another proud Dad

Bottom line is I couldn't be prouder of Anthony whether he ever caught a fish, but this day was special. Up at 4:30, on the water by 6, rode bikes and fished for almost 4 hours without a sniff. As was the plan, we took a diversion to Sandwich Theatre at 10:30 to see Guardians of the Galaxy(and for Dad to catch a few Zzzzz's). Lunch then back to the wrong end of the Ditch for 3 more hours of waiting. Nuttin.

On a hunch, headed to one more spot and as soon as we got there, fish were driving macks on the rocks. After missing a fish on a fresh mac he went back to casting his magic swimmer and got slammed in close. Fish on!

This was his first fish on a rod that I just built for him(gsb108L) and his Penn Fierce with 14# fireline. I really wasn't sure what the rod could handle and when the line started peeling I was a little concerned. Probably a 10 minute battle, and he had NO idea how big the fish was until I lifted it. The expression on his face was priceless!

45", 30.5#. Wow. He's 10, I was in my 30's before getting one that size
