Rough day at Dialysis yesterday!

Well a guy named John was my partner at dialysis, he has been doing it for 5 years! I asked him many questions and he always answered. We use to joke with the nursers and have a great time!! I asked him what keeps him going? He stated he wanted to live so he came all the time and did what he needed to do. Well 3 weeks ago he got the call they have a kiddney!!
It been pretty quite there with out him but I know it was for the best for him! Making my wait seem longer.
I have been trying to call his cell but no answer, So today I asked the nursers if they heard how he has been doing? I have asked before, but I thought I would get him on the phone at some point.
Nurse said let me get Deb (social worker) and see what she can find out, cause we all were wondering.
Deb came in asked how I was then said you wondering about John, I said yes.
THEN BAM she said sorry Joe but John DIED! What a nice guy we lost! Dialysis won't be the same, after 5 years with hope to live a long life his fight is over!! John was just 49! R.I.P. John!

East Wareham - John William Kris, 49, of East Wareham, MA., passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in UMASS - Memorial Hospital – Transplant Unit surrounded by his family. John was born in Worcester, a son of John and Aldona Kris-Kibelkstis. He attended Providence Street School and Doherty High School. He joined the US Navy for four years and returned to work at Wheelabrator Technologies, Inc., as a boiler operator. He worked there for many years. After his father died, he moved to his home at the Cape. There he spent his limited life pleasures by going to dialysis every other day. He leaves two sisters, Mary Rivera of Westerly, RI and Margaret Kris of Manchester, NH; four nieces; three nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.

John enjoyed gardening especially flowers, like his Mom. He asked to plant a rose this summer in his yard. He loved cats, his favorite was Spooky, who waited for him at the gate to come home. Because of his sickness, he could not have animals but he still snuck the neighbor's cat in because they worked all day and would feed and let him sleep until they came home. He fed birds and turkeys, as well as other animals who came to his door to look for him. He loved his Mom and came to visit every weekend and loved small children. Now God has picked him from the garden and placed him among the angels in eternity.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the transplant team doctors, neurologists, and all the caring nurses who comforted us in the dark hours of our life. Also Father Sheehan, who was the anchor in life's stormy sea and other priests who gave him last rights and friends, Deacon Paul, Louis Tripodi, Julia Tufano, who held our family in the dark hours of life's journey.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/tel....3uc5iYSD.dpuf
