Fitzerald knew that he, himself, blatently, brazenly, illegally, withheld exculpatory information from Scooter's lawyer and from one of his star witnesses, and by which he manipulated a false testimony from Judith Miller. His withholding of evidence was prosecutorial misconduct, a lie of omission, and he knew that the withheld evidence would have severely damaged his case. Fitzgerald knew he was wrongly squeezing Scooter in order to get him to testify against Cheney. He knew Scooter didn't out Plame, but was willing to create the big lie then promise Scooter that he would drop the charges if he would turn on Cheney.
In the end, it turned out that Neither Cheney nor Scooter outed Plame. Armitage did, and he was not prosecuted. Why?
