I went from NFB steering to hydraulic and it's super easy to install. I didn't need it, the NFB steering on my 90 was butter smooth but the used console I bought had a seastar helm and changing it would have been a nightmare to refit. I called SeaStar and gave them a couple dimensions for hydraulic line measurements, told them what outboard I had and they gave me a few options and made sure I had the spacer kit so the cylinder mounted without a gap. I didn't write it down but I think I went from 6 to 4.25 turns hard port to hard starboard. Their install instruction manual was spot on with pictures.
